4th of July: Part 2

We had such a fun, long weekend celebrating the 4th of July.
Sunday after church we went downtown with the most popular guy around, Uncle Colton.  We toured the visitor's center and had a great time looking around temple square.

Saturday was a busy day; we went hiking up Big Cottonwood canyon.  We hiked into Donut Falls, and then went up the road and hiked and fished at Silver Lake.

It was such a beautiful, warm sunny day to spend in the mountains.

Taylor loves hiking, it's one of his favorite things to do.  He and Danny do 5-6 mile hikes up Millcreek all the time, he has strong legs!

Isaac has short, stubby legs so he gets to ride in the backpack.  He had fun spotting all tehe squirrels and birds from his perch on Danny's back.

While we were hiking Emily started complaining that her shoes were too small.  She NEVER wears tennis shoes, unless we are hiking or camping, so I haven't bought her any for a long time.  Danny pulled our his knife and cut the toes out of her shoes, which worked out perfectly.

We were all tired after all that hiking, but it was a fantastic way to spend the Holiday weekend.  We love living near the mountains!
