Lizzie's 1st week home!

Wow- has this been a crazy week!
Elizabeth was born last Friday, we came home from the hospital on Sunday morning.  Her birth reminded us what miracle these little babies are, and how they are truly gifts from heaven.  She had some breathing problems at birth and was resuscitated, and I was still having problems with my blood pressure etc... so it made for a stressful, almost scary birth.  I was thrilled and surprised when they told me "It's a Girl", but could hardly be excited until she was breathing and was told she was okay.  We survived the experience and were so grateful to wonderful nurses and Doctors at the hospital!

Lizzie is the sweetest, most cuddly baby, who loves to be held and kissed!  It's hard to believe she is already one week old- yet at the same time I can hardly remember our life before her.  This week has been a blur of counting poopy diapers, 2-3 hour feedings, jaundice checks, Dr. appts., napping and getting to hold this sweet little girl whenever we want!

Here are a few pictures from the hospital and meeting everyone for the first time.
All snuggly and warm after her 1st bath!  She has lots of dark hair, and look a lot like Emily.
Proud big brother, he wanted a puppy, but got a little sister!

Emily was the first person we called when we found out the news of "It's a Girl!"  She was SO excited and happy- she is the best helper and has so much love for her baby sister.

What a big family we have now!
Isaac is the least interested in Elizabeth, but is sweet towards her most of the time.  He has been having a rough week, without all of my attention on him!
Love to smother her with kisses!
This is where we spent the entire week, everyone all piled in my bed wanting to help and see the baby.

 Trying our her new bed.

Meeting Aunt Mono, can't wait to meet the new little cousin.

We had lots of tokens of love given to us this week; from meals being brought, the house was decorated by aunt Mono and Nat for a girl, Grandma Shields helped with the kids all week, Grandpa Deppe came and stayed for a few days to help, lots of gifts from friends and family.  We appreciate your help and love so much!!! We could not have survived this week without you!

We love you Elizabeth and are so happy to have you in our family!
