Friends from Houston!

We were so happy to see our good friends from Houston, the Calls.
They were some of our best friends when we all lived in Eagle, and we miss them.
All the kids had fun playing at the park and eating lunch, while Andrea and I chatted.
Isaac was being his usual unphotogenic self, he hates stopping to get a picture taken.
He really liked Bailey and let her help him around the playground.

We wish you lived closer to us, but we hope you visit Utah often!
Thanks for a fun time Call family.

Grant Shields-Memorial Run

On July 24th all the Shields family had a Grant Shields Memorial 5K and 10K run. It was a fun day to honor and remember Grant, who passed away exactly 10 years ago. There were about 50 people who participated in the races, plus more who just observed.

Natalie, Marcus, my dad and I all ran the 10K. We had a great run and a fun day spending time with family and friends!

Summer Fun!

Taylor and Emily were so excited to have cousins McKay, Anna and Elle visit this week. They all played really well together and had such a fun day!
It was a hot afternoon, so they played outside in the sprinklers to cool off. Taylor and Mckay are both so skinny.

All the kids warming up in the sunshine.

We all like long, hot summer days!

Fountains at the Gateway

This week we went to the Gateway Mall to let the kids play in the water fountains.
Aunt Monica, Rebecca and Mono's friend, Jayme (baby Logan) came with us.
All the kids (except for Isaac) loved playing in the water and getting cool. Isaac was scared of the fountains, and wanted to be held the whole time.
Jayme took these pictures of the kids, they turned out cute!

Happy Birthday Grandma Shields!

We went to Provo to celebrate Great Grandma Shields 82nd Birthday!
We had a fun party with a delicious dinner at Kathy's house.
Grandma is such a sweet, fun, caring woman. We are so lucky to have her as the matriarch of our family. We love you grandma!

The kids love playing with all their cousins!
Poor Aunt Natalie had something wrong with her eye, so she was sporting a patch until she could see a Doctor. She had a miserable day, but was a good sport for attending the party!
We all thought she looked like a cool pirate.

Isaac loves swing, so he sat in this swing all night long.
Thanks for a fun party extended Shields Family!

Silver Lake

On Saturday we took the kids on a hike around Silver Lake. It was so nice to get out of the heat and enjoy the nice, cool mountains. There were tons of squirrels running around, and we got a picture of this one in a tree.

Isaac is loving his freedom of walking and going wherever he wants. He had a great time chasing squirrels, playing in the dirt and eating rocks. He loves to be outdoors.
Danny and Taylor were excited to fish and hoping to catch a few fish. Taylor was thrilled to catch this trout, and had fun carrying it out of the lake on this twig. He loves to fish just as much as Danny does!

Aunt Natalie was very helpful in carrying Emily part of the way. Emily likes to talk about hiking but after 1/2 mile or so, she says she's tired and doesn't want to hike.

This is a gorgeous lake with beautiful scenery everywhere you look! We will definately be going back to Silver Lake.

Isaac's walking

About a week ago Isaac decided to start walking. He has been able to walk for quite a while, but just chose to crawl or whine to be held instead. He's still a little wobbly and falls down, but he's doing great.
I am happy he's walking he was really starting to get so heavy and I was hurting my hip from carrying him around all day! He is such a funny, strong willed child. If he has something he wants, he will try and try until he gets it. He loves dogs and all animals right now and gets so excited when he sees them.

Taylor, Emily and I went to Park City to stay in a beautiful house with some of our friends from Eagle, ID. We had so much fun in beautiful Park City.

We went to dinner and then got ice cream for all the kids.

Taylor and Emily had so much fun playing puppies with their friends, collecting rocks, looking for squirrels, going in the hot tub and staying up really late eating junk food.

The next day we walked up to Deer Valley ski resort and hiked around. The weather was so nice and cooler than SLC.

We had the kids take a picture of the mom's and Taylor did pretty good.
Thanks Sunny and Rachel for a fun time in Park City! We miss all our good friends in Idaho.

4th of July Weekend!

We had a fabulous 4th of July weekend. On Saturday we went to Springville to spend the day wtih goofy Grandma and Grandpa. We had a picnic lunch up Hobblecreek canyon and Taylor and Danny went fishing. Taylor was SO excited to be catching fish and we let him keep a trout to eat for dinner.

After a delicious BBQ dinner we did sparklers and fireworks. Isaac and Taylor loved the fireworks and Emily was scared. She covered her ears through all the fireworks.

The kids had so much fun spending time with G & G Wall.

Taylor is a typical boy and he loves playing with fire. He did lots of sparklers, because Emily was too scared to hold any.

Sunday afternoon we went on a beautiful drive up East Canyon, this is the view from the top of the canyon.

Aunt Monica is working at "This Is The Place Monument Park", she is so amazing to volunteer to help. So we went to visit her and spend more time at the park. It was a lot of fun, and very tiring for little Isaac.

We rode the train up to the tee pee's. Emily and Taylor thought it was stinky inside. We LOVE having Aunt Natalie coming with us on all our summer outings.

Then they rode another train which goes around the pond overlooking the beautiful, scenic view of Salt Lake.

Emily riding a horse, she was very brave.

Thanks Mono, it was so fun to see you and Becca in your house.
