We started volunteering at "This is the Place Pioneer Park" this week.  We work once a week for a few hours, and the kids love it!
This week we had a busy day; watered the crops, rode on a wagon, petted the baby lambs, rode the train, panned for gold, earned a "Zion Dollar" by completing an assignment, dipped candles and explored the whole park.
Isaac was happy for an hour or so, and then he got really grumpy.

Taylor & Emily had a great time, and didn't want to leave when our shift was over.  I think it's going to be a fantastic way to spend our Tuesdays!

Zoo Night

We went to the zoo last week at night, and it was tons of fun! We met Mono, Becca, Nat and Z & L and their cute kids to see all the animals in the evening. Everyone had a blast!

1st Day of Summer!

We had a fantastic 1st day of summer!
We spent the morning at the park exploring the river and playing kickball. Then off to the circle for a party with tons of treats, a bouncy house etc...
Isaac has tripped and fallen multiple times the past few days, and this was his latest scrape. He fell on the driveway scraped his forehead. He cried and looked so sad with a huge bloody scrape on his face. Poor little guy, he runs fast to keep up with his older siblings ( he has short, stubby legs!).
He loves these popsicles but makes such a HUGE mess!
We tried out our new popcorn maker for the party on the street. It was easy and fun to use and the kids loved it!

Then the kids gorged themselves on cotton candy, pizza, popcorn and more.

Here's the Bouncy slide, with the hose spraying water.
He had fun playing with his treat, but he didn't like eating it. He kept taking it out of his mouth, all sticky and messy, he never even swallowed any.

Emily decided to wear her cotton candy, instead of eat it! She devoured her treat and then ate Isaac's.
What a great way to start the summer!

Busy weekend

We were so happy to see great Grandma Wall this weekend. She is visiting Utah this week with Barbara & Kevin to see her grandkids and family,
She is one of our favorite people in the whole world. She is such a sweet, nice woman, with a fun personality and a great sense of humor. She is getting older and is suffering from dementia, and it is hard to see her aging. Danny has such great memories of his grandma, as do I from when we lived with her in Santa Barbara. We spent the day with her in Springville at Goofy Grandpa's house with aunts, uncles and cousins. Isaac tormented grandpa all day and loved getting tickled.

Aunt katie was in town too, and it was fun to see her as well. She always spoils the kids with love and treats!

Here is grandma Wall with three of her children.
Here she is with great-grandkids and grandkids too! We had a nice day in Springville, it was wonderful to spend time with family.

Emily's recital

We had a busy weekend, full of Emily spring dance recital and Taylor's last soccer game.
Emily was SO excited for her recital, and loved her costume. The theme for the recital was "The Princess & The Frog" and she was a frog. It was so adorable to see all the different animals, fireflies, flamingoes, etc.. in their costumes.
For more pics. check out Mono's blog:

Taylor had his last soccer game of the season today, at the exact same time of the recital. Thanks for Goofy Grandpa for taking him to his game. His team won 13-1 and he scored 2 goals! We were sad to miss his game, but had watch Emily at her show. Taylor had made a lot of improvement in his soccer skills this spring and we are so proud of him!
Here they are, all excited for their big morning.

Emily did so good at her dances, she knew all the moves and was smiley and happy the whole time (no tears this time!) She was thrilled with her new costume, the audience and all the attention she got from those who came to watch.

She has improved socially SO much this last year; and we owe a lot of her improved independence and self esteem to Miss Julie, her fantastic dance teacher! She is great with the girls and so sweet to them as they learn their dances.

Way to go Emily we are so proud of you!!!

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun Memorial Day weekend. We were busy celebrating Danny's Birthday, going to Tooele to see the cemetery and helping Brett & Teresa move into their house.

Danny and I went out on a fun date Sat. night, we ate Greek food and saw movie. Then on Sunday we had a delicious dinner for Danny's b-day; pasta, salad and almond cake with fruit and whipped cream for dessert. The kids had fun filling their mouths FULL of cream!

We didn't get any pics. of the b-day boy.

Isaac made a huge mess as usual.

Then we went to Tooele to meet all the Shields family at the cemetary. We had fun seeing great grandma Shields, aunts, uncles and cousins.

We love holiday weekends!
